FAO-POST TYPHOON HAIYAN

Engaging Your Audience With Content That Matters

Brief: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is an agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.

This video we developed  highlights the Coconut-Based Farming Systems (CBTS) Program, implemented in Region 8, Leyte, Philippines, that supports small-scale coconut farmers following Typhoon Haiyan, locally known as Typhoon Yolonda.

My team and I traveled from Manila, Philippines and Geneva, Switzerland to Leyte, Philippines.
We shot footage over a 3 day period between Ormoc and Tacloban, some of the hardest hit areas by the typhoon.

Our goal with this video is to present it in a style that relies on some form of 2d animation and narration from the agency that aids in driving the story, and footage from the field is used to highlight and reinforce “FAO in Action” through storytelling.

Scope of Work: Communication: Identified key communications objectives.
Planning & Logistics: Content development and approval of technical data, editing and production.
Design: KAB Designs managed all logistics from direction and production to final product.
