Regardless of ones political affiliation, there should be agreement that there was a lot of rhetoric during the campaign of the 2016 US Presidential election cycle, where many groups globally have been insulted, demonized, and threatened. On Saturday, January 21, 2017, millions of women around the globe took to the streets to march, standing together in solidarity with their respective partners and children for the protection of rights, safety, health, and families — recognizing that vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our world.
Here in Geneva, it was amazing to see so many people that braved the cold and came out to support the advocacy and resistance movements that reflect multiple and intersecting identities.
