NEW FABRICS FROM INDIA

On the recent buying trip to India, I had a chance to purchase many fabrics using the block printing technique. Block printing is a form of dying and coloring a fabric using wooden blocks. India is one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of block printed fabric in the world. Block printing craftsmen use wooden or metal blocks to create beautiful designs; sometimes, linoleum blocks are also used. The process mainly happens on cotton so fine that it feels like silk, but is also executed on silk and linens.

Below is a sampling of the fabrics that will be offered in my collection for fall/holiday/resort 2016, “Inspired by India.” In some cases clients have the opportunity to choose a fabric for a custom design. If you are interested in this, please send me an email using the contact page, referencing the cloth and we can start the discussion there.

We go into production the first week of October so get your custom order in.
