INSPIRED BY INDIA FIRST LOOKS

I just arrived back this weekend from 2 weeks in the Philippines and it looks like fall has arrived here in Geneva. I’m not fretting as I’m surrounded by beautiful new clothing from the new capsule collection, “Inspired by India” by Keith A. Brown (me).

As many here know, I was recently in India for 2 weeks, and all of the pictured fabrics are block prints from Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Jodphur. For those familiar with the block printing process, you might recognize the technique. This is not to be confused with screen printing, however, there are beautiful screen printed options being produced in India. My goal was to apply the cloths to modern and contemporary silhouettes, creating new avenues for people to be exposed to these fabrics via my clothing, similar to what I have done with the cloths from Africa and the Netherlands.

India Inspired First Looks

The few pieces pictured are here in Geneva at my place now, and only represent a small portion of items that are in route. The other items include some of the most beautiful cottons spun to feel like silk, as well as some funky loomed heavier cottons which are similar to wool boucle’…think Chanel jackets.

I had hoped to have brought everything back  but my tailor got sick and we don’t use sweatshop labor. If you own or have had a chance to handle and try on my garments, you know first hand there is a certain level of quality that I’m striving to maintain, and it doesn’t come from factories or sweat shops where the focus is on sew it as fast as you can. Think of this process as slow cooking.

Not too get too long winded, I just wanted to highlight a few new options as we await the others. If you are interested in any of the items pictured, please CONTACT ME asap as they can be custom fitted within certain size ranges, ranging from pear to apple shapes.

Enjoy the first view.
