REQUIRED Skills:
- Work Setting Skills REQUIRED: Infusion Center
- Biotherapy Skills REQUIRED: Active Immunotherapy Specific/Non Specific, Cytotoxic Therapy & Recognize/manage side effects
- Chemotherapy Skills REQUIRED: Administration of chemotherapy, Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy, IV push administration of chemotherapy, Management/disposal cytotoxic spills, Monitor chemotherapy, Oral Administration of chemotherapy & Recognize/ communicate abnormal lab values
- Medications Skills REQUIRED: Antiemetic, Antitumor, Antibiotic, Corticosteroids, Neupogen & Hormonal therapy
- Oncologic Emergencies Skills REQUIRED: Anaphylaxis
- Pain Management Skills REQUIRED: IV push narcotic agents
- Patient Ratio Experience REQUIRED: 1:7
- Professional Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED: Care coordination, Isolation Precautions & Neutropenic precautions
- Psychosocial Care Skills REQUIRED: Patient/Family education and support

- Bone Marrow Transplant Skills: Stem cell therapies
- Care of Patient With Skills: Bladder/Kidney Cancer, Brain cancer, Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Ear/Nose/Throat Cancers, Kidney Cancer, Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias, Liver Cancer, Lung cancer, Melanoma, Multiple Myeloma, Lymphoma/Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Ovarian Cancer/Uterine Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer & Prostate Cancer
- Chemotherapy Skills: Continuous Infusion of chemotherapy
- IV Therapy/ Infusions Skills: Accessing Ports, Administration of coagulation factors, Administration of blood & blood products, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Infusion pump management, Intravenous hydration/multivitamins, PICC line care & Starting and maintaining IVs
- Oncologic Emergencies Skills: Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS), Extravasation injury, Hemorrhage, Sepsis & Spinal Cord Compression
- Professional Knowledge & Skills: Foley catheter insertion/management & Phlebotomy skills
- Symptom management Skills: Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Altered mental status, Constipation/diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea/vomiting & Neuropathy
- PREFERRED Work Experience - EPIC and Community Hospital Experience
- PREFERRED Certs: OCN
JOB DETAILS:
- Avg. Daily Census: 75-90
- Our department has 80 treatment bays with a mix of beds and chairs. 63 Chairs & 17 Beds/Stretchers
- SHIFT: 40 Hours
- 13 Weeks.
- 10 HOUR DAYS; 07:30 - 18:00
- RTO: 7 DAYS MAX for AUTO OFFER
- Call Requirement: NONE
- Float Requirement: NONE
- Weekend Requirement: 2 per 6 weeks/The 2 Weekends vary depending on the volumes on our schedule. They would typically be 6-8H shifts.
- Weekends would be negotiable in order to meet their 40H/week.
- PATIENT AGE GROUP: Adolescents, Adults & Geriatrics
- PATIENT DIAGNOSES: All cancer diagnosis, Classical hematology, Malignant hematology
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS:
- Blood administration and monitoring
- Medication administration and monitoring
- Chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration (including intravenous, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravesicular routes)
- Central line management/lab draws
- Therapeutic phlebotomy
- Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) placement
- Clinical assessments and management of patients with blood disorder
- Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy for oncologic purposes that are not provided in the inpatient setting
- Clinical Research including Phase 1 trials
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Alaris infusion pump, Elastomeric ambulatory infusion pump, CADD Solis ambulatory infusion pump, Massimo vital machine, Phlebotomy scale & Amma scalp cooling device
UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, EPIC PREFERRED, SBAR
SCRUBS : Not Provided. Navy/White or a combination of Navy and White
