Job Posting: Workforce & Community Development Intern
Location: Any Texas Universities (TXWORKS Internship Program)
Employment Type: Internship (Fall, Spring, Summer)

Compensation: $20-40/hr, up to 32 hours per week
Eligibility: Open to undergraduate students at Texas universities

Govuni Collective is a workforce empowerment and economic development organization dedicated to job training, business growth, sustainability initiatives, and community development. Our mission is to provide students with real-world experience in workforce development, business innovation, affordable housing, and sustainable economic practices.
Our organization is structured into three key divisions:
Govuni Network Corporation A nonprofit workforce and business development entity supporting employment training, economic opportunities, and business sustainability.
Govuni Collective Foundation A nonprofit branch dedicated to community empowerment, housing affordability, and sustainability initiatives.
Through hands-on training, innovative programs, and employer partnerships, we equip students with practical skills and industry knowledge to support businesses, entrepreneurs, and workforce development initiatives.
All student interns will be trained in one of these roles using Agile & Scrum project management methods to ensure adaptability and collaboration. This program is designed to provide real-world training in workforce and economic development, business growth, sustainability, and housing initiatives.
1. Workforce & Business Development
Assist in workforce training programs, helping businesses and individuals access employment resources.
Support small business growth by identifying grants, funding opportunities, and economic incentives.
Research workforce trends and help develop strategies to improve employment opportunities.
2. Community Outreach & Event Planning
Organize bi-weekly community marketplace events, recruiting small businesses to showcase products and services.
Assist in fundraising campaigns, ensuring a portion of vendor sales supports workforce and community programs.
Develop workshops and training programs to educate individuals on economic sustainability.
3. Grant Writing & Economic Development
Research and draft grant proposals to secure funding for workforce training and community programs.
Collaborate with government and corporate partners to expand job training initiatives.
Assist in structuring financial assistance programs for workers in employee-owned business models.
4. Sustainable Housing & Infrastructure Development
Support the development of affordable housing programs, including lease-to-own models.
Research sustainable building materials, including 3D printing and concrete moss for energy-efficient housing.
Assist in community planning initiatives, working to improve local infrastructure.
5. Digital Marketing & Communications
Manage social media platforms, creating digital content to promote workforce initiatives.
Develop newsletters and blog posts highlighting economic opportunities and training programs.
Assist in podcast and media production, interviewing industry professionals to provide workforce insights and release independent podcast and newsletter content.
6. Technology & AI Workforce Innovation
Use AI-powered workforce tools to enhance job placement, training, and economic outreach.
Assist in data analysis and automation strategies to improve efficiency in workforce programs.
Research emerging technologies that support economic growth and workforce accessibility.
7. Community Planning & Development
Assist in research for community planning projects, helping to develop walkable and sustainable neighborhoods.
Identify local businesses, investors, and government programs that can fund redevelopment initiatives.
Help design strategies for infrastructure upgrades, including transportation, public spaces, and economic hubs.

No prior experience required all training will be provided through the Govuni Workforce Training Program.
Hourly Pay:
$20/hr, up to 32 hours per week during Fall, Spring, or Summer.
