Weekend Receptionist

MISSION: "Chileda's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavior challenges. Chileda's goal is to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills, through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. Chileda's population includes children and young adults with special needs including Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, Attachment Challenges, related developmental delays, and intensive behavioral needs"

SUMMARY: The Receptionist is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional experience for staff, students, and guests who enter Chileda on the weekends. This position will answer phone calls and welcome families and assist with the transition to and from family visits. The position also involves data entry, copying and laminating.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be highly organized and able to adapt to a fast-paced office environment.
  • Must be able to work with confidential information such as student data and financial information.
  • Must be familiar with and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be able to operate office machines.

GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY: Every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am-6:00pm.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Answer phone calls in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area.
  • Greet and direct all visitors, including parents of students, students, and other guests.
  • Ensure completion of sign-in and sign-out paperwork and security procedures.
  • Check home visit bags upon return to ensure all returned items are within the prohibited items guidelines.
  • Communicate visits with the Shift Manager and Health and Wellness Staff.
  • Ensure that families have needed materials for their visits (including prescribed medications).
  • Enter data and generate reports as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Make copies of materials as assigned.
