POSITION TITLE: Sub Shop Clerk

DEPARTMENT: Sub Shop

REPORTS TO: Sub Shop Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Join our team as a Sub Shop Clerk, where you'll deliver exceptional customer service while preparing delicious sandwich orders in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provide friendly and efficient service to customers, ensuring their orders are prepared to perfection.
• Skillfully slice, cut, and weigh merchandise when working in the deli.
• Keep the prep area organized and well-stocked at all times.
• Maintain product freshness by following proper coding, rotation, and daily removal of out-of-date merchandise.
• Accurately price all products according to the price book for clear customer visibility.
• Stay updated on new items and weekly specials, promoting them to the customers.
• Report any temperature issues for cases and storage areas to the manager promptly.
• Follow all departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance according to company dress code.
• Greet customers warmly and stay attentive to their needs.
• Adhere to all company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Implement a cleaning and sanitation program that complies with store, local, and state health regulations.
• Assist in food preparation when needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Strong communication skills for excellent customer interaction.
• Basic math skills for weighing and pricing products accurately.
• Manual dexterity for slicing and preparing deli items.
• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds up to twenty percent (20%) of the time.
