Shreveport, LA manufacturer is Seeking a qualified individual for its fabrication department. The primary function of this position is to cut and fit pipe fittings, so they fit correctly on pipe. This process may include heating and grinding the fitting.


Pay: $20-$24 based on experience plus a bonus program


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to read and interpret detailed shop orders, including drawings.
• Must perform welding operations in accordance weld specifications.
• Responsible for quality workmanship and meeting customer specifications.
• Ability to function well in a fast paced environment.
• Keep work area free and clear of all potential safety hazards.
• Follow all company-standard and position-specific safety requirements.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Department Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Previous MIG welding experience and cutting with a torch.
• Previous steel and carbon steel experience.
• Previous experience reading blueprints and following to completion.
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use variety of tools and equipment.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment.
• Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
• Movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements.
• Working in temperature zones that may include hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present.
