POSITION TITLE: Pre-Cut Produce Clerk

DEPARTMENT: Produce Department

REPORTS TO: Produce Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Join our team to expertly manage and operate the cut fruit and vegetable area, ensuring top-notch quality and freshness for our valued customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Verify and communicate the quality, count, and freshness of all products.
• Prepare all merchandise in the cut fruit and vegetable areas, including trimming and pricing.
• Maintain a neat and clean prep area, adhering to department and company standards.
• Perform equipment maintenance and ensure the cleanliness of coolers and the sales area.
• Conduct and record temperature checks on all refrigerated coolers, promptly communicating any issues to management.
• Cut and trim product to replenish the pre-cut sections during the second shift.
• Greet all customers warmly and remain observant of store activity.
• Comply with all company policies as detailed in the Employee Handbook.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Monitor inventory and supplies; notify the Produce Manager when replenishment is needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Basic math skills with the ability to accurately count product and reconcile against invoices.
• Strong communication skills for excellent customer assistance.
• Dexterity in hands for effective trimming and packaging of products.
• Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in designated areas.
• Capable of lifting up to thirty (30) pounds, fifty (50) percent of the time.
• Able to stand for the majority of your scheduled work shift.
