POSITION TITLE: Pre-Cut Clerk

DEPARTMENT: Produce Department

REPORTS TO: Produce Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Join our dynamic Produce Department as a Pre-Cut Clerk, where you will play a key role in providing fresh and high-quality cut fruits and vegetables to our valued customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Verify and communicate the quality, count, and freshness of all products, ensuring only the best items are served.
2. Prepare all merchandise for the salad bar and cut fruit and vegetable areas, including trimming, pricing, and cooking.
3. Maintain a clean and organized Prep area that meets department and company standards.
4. Carry out maintenance of equipment and housekeeping of coolers and sales area.
5. Conduct and document temperature checks on all refrigerated coolers and soup temperatures.
6. Promptly communicate any temperature failures to department and store management.
7. Cut and trim product to replenish the pre-cut sections during the second shift.
8. Greet all customers warmly and remain vigilant to their needs while in the store.
9. Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Monitor inventory and supplies, and notify the Produce Manager when orders are needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Basic math skills with the ability to accurately count products and match them against invoices.
• Strong communication skills for providing excellent customer assistance.
• Dexterity in hands for effective trimming and packaging of products.
• Ability to unload, transport, and properly place merchandise in designated areas.
• Capacity to lift up to thirty (30) pounds, up to fifty (50) percent of the time.
• Must be able to stand for the majority of your scheduled work shift.
