Job Summary: The Pharmacy Assistant will assist pharmacists in providing quality patient care by performing a variety of non-dispensing duties within the pharmacy. They will work closely with patients, staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure positive outcomes for all patients.

Job Responsibilities:
Ensure accuracy when processing prescriptions including entering information into computer systems, preparing labels, and packaging medications;
Support the pharmacist in verifying medication therapy, counseling patients on appropriate use of medications, side effects and drug interactions;
Prepare and administer vaccines as required;
Process and verify insurance claims;
Maintain inventory levels through timely ordering of stock medications and supplies;
Participate in performance improvement activities;
Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members;
Basic knowledge of medical terminology;
Strong customer service skills;
Good organization and time management skills;
Effective problem solving skills;
Excellent attention to detail;
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks based on urgency;
Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and electronic medical records;
Ability to operate a fax machine, copy machine, and cash register;
Valid driver's license if required to drive for deliveries.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
