Job Description
Fuel is essential for keeping Soldiers moving forward, and as a Petroleum Supply Management Specialist, you play a vital role in ensuring they never run low. In this key position, you'll oversee the effective handling, storage, and shipping of petroleum-based products, including oil, fuel, and compressed gas.
Your primary responsibilities will include supervising the reception, storage, and distribution of bulk and packaged petroleum products. This entails operating specialized equipment to load trucks, ships, trains, and aircraft; collecting and submitting samples of petroleum products for testing; managing petroleum and water accounting activities; testing samples for contamination; and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and storage guidelines.
As you gain experience, you will take on additional management responsibilities, such as training and supervising other personnel, assigning tasks, performing quality checks, and maintaining adherence to safety protocols.

Earn While You Learn
Join the Army National Guard, where you will earn a regular paycheck while gaining valuable skills. You can also qualify for tuition assistance, and some specialties offer certified apprenticeship programs.
After completing 10 weeks of Basic Training to learn fundamental Soldiering skills, you will enter 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which combines hands-on training with classroom instruction.
