Hoffmann Counseling Services of St. Peter is seeking full-time Mental Health Practitioners.

Our Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) program and Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health (ARMHS) program provide community-based rehabilitative services to children, adolescents, adults, and families impacted by mental illness. Our Mental Health Practitioners provide individual and family skills training under the direction of a Qualified Mental Health Professional. Qualified candidates will be able to provide services to children and families in the home and community settings and work independently and engage effectively with children with mental illness. Responsibilities:

  • Provide skills training, assessment, and monitoring in the areas identified in the individual's Diagnostic Assessment.
  • Provide services in the recipient's home, community, or office.
  • Maintain progress records for each face-to-face meeting and telephone contact with clients and their supports.
  • Schedule appointments and see the client to give requested services for the amount of time and frequency agreed upon by the treatment team.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other agencies and community providers to provide the best possible care for clients, ensuring necessary releases of information are completed.
  • Monitor client progress and work with the clinical team to create and modify the treatment plan as appropriate.
  • Complete timely and professionally written reports.
  • Actively participate in the supervisory process.

Qualifications:

Mental health practitioners providing services for the treatment of mental illness who are not eligible for enrollment must be under the clinical supervision of a mental health professional and must be qualified in at least one of the following five ways:

  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or a related field from an accredited college or university and meets either A, B, or C:
    • A: Has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to recipients with mental illness;
    • B: has completed a practicum or internship that (i) requires direct interaction with adults or children served, and (ii) is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields; or
    • C: is in the process of completing a practicum or internship as part of a formal undergraduate or graduate training program in social work, psychology, or counseling.
  • Has at least 6,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to recipients with mental illness. Hours worked as a mental health behavioral aide I or II under Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) may be included in the 6,000 hours of experience for child recipients;
  • Is a graduate student in one of the mental health professional disciplines, and an accredited college or university formally assigns the student to an agency or facility for clinical training;
  • Holds a Master's or other graduate degree in one of the mental health professional disciplines from an accredited college or university;
  • Is a tribally certified mental health practitioner serving a federally recognized Indian tribe.
