Requisition ID: 173155 Job Level: Mid Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Mining District Department: Field Operations Market: Mining Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview As a Mine Engineer, you will support Kiewit Mining operations throughout North America. The role is responsible for overseeing the development of short‑range and long‑range plans, work packages, estimating, budgeting, design work, and training/mentoring Field Engineers. You will also manage special projects and collaborate with other departments across project sites. Responsibilities Support and implement short‑range and long‑range mine planning operations for active mines, infrastructure projects, and heavy civil projects. Track costs and develop annual and life‑of‑mine budgets. Manage special projects and oversee related teams. Design, develop work plans, and estimate costs for mining activities. Train and support Field Engineers new to the company and projects. Perform estimates for new contract opportunities. Qualifications Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mining, Civil, Geological, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related natural science engineering fields. Minimum 3 years of experience. Willingness to travel and relocate as needed. Experience in Mining, Mining Infrastructure, or Heavy Civil projects is preferred. Ability to access all points of a project site in varied climates and environments, including climbing onto equipment. Highly motivated with a passion for excellence and initiative. Strong work ethic and willingness to get the job done right the first time. Commitment to ethics, integrity, and safety. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Location Possible locations include: Gillette, WY; Soda Springs, ID; Tok, AK. Relocation is based on work availability and team skill sets. Compensation & Benefits Base Compensation: $90,000 – $125,000 (subject to variation based on education, experience, skillset, and/or location).
