Position Overview: The Bench Jeweler is responsible for crafting, repairing, and restoring jewelry using a variety of techniques and tools. This hands-on role requires precision, attention to detail, and expertise in working with metals, gemstones and diamonds. The Bench Jeweler plays a key role in maintaining the quality and craftsmanship of all jewelry pieces. Key Responsibilities: Jewelry Repair and Restoration: Perform repairs on jewelry pieces, including resizing rings, soldering broken chains, and replacing clasps. Restore aged and damaged jewelry to its original condition. Stone Setting: Execute various stone-setting techniques, including prong, bezel, pave, and channel settings. Inspect and secure gemstones and diamonds to prevent loosening or damage. Polishing and Finishing: Polish and finish jewelry pieces to achieve a flawless appearance. Apply appropriate finishes, such as matte or high polish, as required by design specifications. Metal Work and Fabrication: Work with metals such as gold, silver, platinum, and alternative alloys. Perform metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, shaping, and soldering components. Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain jewelry-making tools and equipment, including lathes, torches, and ultrasonic cleaners. Ensure tools are cleaned and in good working condition to support precision craftsmanship. Quality Control: Inspect completed pieces for accuracy, durability, and adherence to design specifications. Address and resolve any defects or imperfections in finished products. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with designers (factory), fulfillment team, and sales teams to ensure satisfaction with final pieces. Provide expert advice on repairs, modifications, and design feasibility.
