A Commercial and Residential Real Estate Investment and Management Group in Cleveland is looking to hire an Accounting Manager/Senior Property Accountant. This is a new position due to growth.
The ideal candidate should have experience with Real Estate, Property Accounting, and Yardi or MRI. Experience with CAM reconciliations is a nice skill to have.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant/Accounting Manager to join our team in the Mortgage industry. This is a permanent hybrid role that offers the flexibility of working from home and in the office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, managing the financial operations of a portfolio of mixed-use, multifamily residential properties.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of property accounting, including but not limited to, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Utilize property management software such as Yardi and MRI to maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with property management teams to analyze and interpret financial data, providing insights that will aid in decision-making processes.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with property management teams to develop accurate and realistic financial projections.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and available for review.
- Continually review and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on multifamily residential properties.
- Proven experience with property management software such as Yardi and MRI.
- Experience in managing financial operations of mixed-use properties, including apartments and units.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proactive and results-driven, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
