At the Hilton Garden Inn Buffalo Downtown, ensuring the safety of our Colleagues, Guests and Visitors is an integral part of our operations. As a Security Officer, your attentiveness, efficiency, and commitment will ensure our hotel remains a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Include the following, but are not limited to)

• Provide excellent customer service and professionalism when dealing with guests and visitors
• Treat all guests and co-workers with dignity and respect
• Provide excellent telephone etiquette on all phone calls
• Protect hotel property, guests, and staff
• Respond to alarms and calls of distress
• Perform first aid or CPR when needed
• Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property
• Guard against theft and maintain security
• Observe signs of disorder and investigate disturbances
• Patrol hotel interior, exterior, and perimeter
• Stop suspicious people and ask for identification
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
• Possess detailed documentation skills
• Report in detail any suspicious, criminal, or unusual incidents
• Monitor and control access to hotel(s) entrances
• Monitor fire alarm systems and CCTV monitors
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures

CURRENT SHIFT OPPORTUNITIES

• Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 8:00am to 4:00pm
• Additional shifts may be available based upon the needs of the hotel

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Possess a valid New York State Security Officer License
• Basic computer skills, effectively communicate orally and in writing
• Basic interview and interrogation skills
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Physical ability to perform all security assignments
• Ability to remain calm and make sound judgments in threatening situations
• Ability to recognize and deal with suspicious behavior
• Ability to recognize and deal with threats to hotel guests and staff
