Position Summary

The Sales Manager will serve as a strategic leader and active contributor—a true 'Player-Coach.' This dual-role leader is responsible for mentoring and developing a high-performing sales team, while directly engaging in complex or high-value sales opportunities. Success in this role requires a passion for sales, a technical aptitude, and the ability to inspire others.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Coach and develop a team of Technical Advisors to meet and exceed individual and team sales goals
  • Lead regular 1-on-1 sessions and performance reviews, providing actionable feedback and recognition
  • Deliver ongoing training on product knowledge and effective sales techniques
  • Cultivate a collaborative, accountable, and motivated team culture

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Implement data-driven strategies and action plans aligned to organizational sales targets
  • Set, track, and report on KPIs using CRM tools and analytics
  • Adjust sales tactics based on market insights and competitor trends
  • Personally lead key sales engagements and support the team in closing deals

Customer Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with key accounts and industry stakeholders
  • Actively prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities
  • Represent Swagelok at customer meetings, trade events, and industry functions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to deliver unified messaging and value
  • Ensure seamless hand-offs and consistent customer experience across departments

Success Metrics

  • Sales team meets or exceeds quarterly revenue goals
  • Growth in high-value customer accounts
  • Reduced sales cycle time through improved processes and training
  • Improved team retention and engagement scores
  • Increased market share in key industry verticals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical) or Business preferred
  • Proven experience in B2B sales leadership with hands-on selling responsibilities
  • Track record of exceeding sales targets and leading high-performance teams
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and data-driven sales management
