Job Description

Job Description

The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore (DPOB) strives to make Downtown a destination of choice for living, working, visiting, and investing. We are the connection to everything happening in the state’s largest business center, cultural district, and fastest-growing neighborhoods. We are the center of it all. We also oversee the Downtown Management Authority (DMA), Baltimore’s oldest and largest business improvement district (BID). DPOB's programs – including uniformed operations teams of Downtown Baltimore Guides, Clean Sweep Ambassadors, and Park Stewards – make the 106-block downtown district more attractive, vibrant, and hospitable.

Are you passionate about bringing people together and creating experiences that leave a lasting impact? We’re looking for an Events Manager to lead the charge in showcasing all that Downtown Baltimore has to offer. In this role, you’ll design and deliver dynamic events that celebrate our community, while building strong partnerships with consumers, sponsors, and local businesses. You’ll also spearhead quarterly meetings with community members and property managers, driving collaboration and engagement to keep Downtown Baltimore thriving.

We’ll need you to

  • Manage DPOB’s event planning, on-site logistics and maintenance, vendor negotiations and performance, and budgeting.
  • Conduct sponsor prospecting, oversee sponsorship, relationship building, implementation, coordination and solicitation for consumer events and promotions.
  • Support the VP of Marketing with the development and execution of an overall Downtown marketing program for leisure visitors and residents.
  • Manage and provide leadership to the Sr. Events & Programming Specialist, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and successful execution of events and programs.
  • Identify methods of promoting visits to Downtown spaces, with special attention on placemaking activations in under-utilized destinations such as parks and plazas.
  • Use metrics to develop event KPIs to gauge event successes and opportunities for growth.
  • Direct DPOB’s consumer event marketing activities, including but not limited to: Baltimore Restaurant Week, Charles Street Promenade, Spring Break Skate, Pratt Street Market, Center Plaza Summer Concert Series, and Downtown Discovery Days.
  • Establish relationships with attractions, museums, and restaurants, linking them with event opportunities and promotions.
  • Coordinate any special project as deemed appropriate by the Vice President of Marketing & Comms.
  • Coordinate with the marketing and communications team to prepare, design, and deliver promotional materials and press deliverables.

Is This You?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in digital marketing, communications, and brand strategy.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing marketing or communications teams.
  • Strong track record in managing multi-channel campaigns (email, web, SEO, social, digital advertising).
  • Experience working with analytical tools (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, Adobe Analytics).
