Medix Infusion is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Intake Clerk to join our team. In this crucial administrative role, you will manage a high volume of intake requests, ensuring a seamless process for our patients and healthcare providers. Medix Infusion is a technology-driven healthcare platform enhancing patient care and access to infusion therapies, specializing in disease management and infusion pharmacy services for chronic and acutely ill patients, especially in underserved communities. We offer personalized home and in-suite infusion therapies, ensuring convenience and comfort. Our expert team provides a comprehensive range of treatments, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectables, making each patient’s journey as smooth as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and prioritize a high volume of incoming referrals and faxed intake documents.
• Create and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system.
• Review and route hard copy and electronic documents to appropriate departments.
• Scan, upload, and organize patient documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Monitor and complete intake follow-up tasks to ensure timely care.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions.
• Exhibit courteous, compassionate, and professional behavior with internal and external contacts.
• Use Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel for daily communication and documentation.
• Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned by the department lead.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant (MA) or Pharmacy Technician (PhT) experience or education preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and patient intake processes is a plus.
• 1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Candidates will be required to complete a Predictive Index Assessment as part of the recruitment process.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, and reading. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
