Electrical Apprentices with min 2 years electrical work experience

JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Apprentices electricians are people who are on their first step toward becoming fully licensed and capable journeyman electricians. In order to facilitate the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical signage, an Electrician Apprentice performs many different tasks. Must be able to obtain a Washington State 04 Specialty Electricians Trainee card.

Assist Electrician

The Electrician Apprentice’s central task is to assist the Electrician. This may involve doing basic tasks such as handling the tools, and it may also involve working independently from the Electrician at times on electrical tasks that require less skill or experience. As the Electrical Apprentice progresses, you will be given more independence in completing tasks.

Complete Maintenance

The Electrician Apprentice assists with and completes maintenance work orders on electrical equipment. This includes testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment and replacing defective parts. The Electrician Apprentice and Electrician will collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and solve problems.

Complete Installations

In order to fill installation work orders, the Electrician Apprentice will assist the Electrician or perform less complex installation tasks independently. They will complete electrical wiring tasks, alignment adjustments, and calibration of equipment following manuals, schematics, diagrams, blueprints and equipment specifications.

Learn Procedures

The Electrician Apprentice is in a position that is partly educational training to become an Electrician. Therefore, he or she is responsible for learning all procedures for installing and maintaining electrical systems as well as local and federal regulations and safety requirements.

Electrician Apprentice Skills

• Well-organized, motivated team players who are hungry to learn the electrician trade. You should be able to follow instructions and apply knowledge that they have learned.
• Must be able to handle items weigh 50lbs or more.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and heights up to 100’ plus.
• Obtaining Electrical Trainee Certification according to state requirements
• Having some electrical service work experience
• Demonstrating knowledge of electrical codes
• Possessing the ability to understand schematics and technical manuals
• Ability to stand on their feet for long periods of time and are capable of heavy lifting on a constant basis
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Must be safety oriented
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
