Ian's Pizza State

Ian's brings affordable, craft-quality pizza to the people. We use the finest local ingredients to make the best NY-style, hand-tossed 'za to hit your tastebuds. Specializing in old-school and original combinations, all available by the slice or whole pie.

Near Madison Capitol Square, State is a meeting place for parents and students, colleagues, and families to get together for an affordable lunch or quick dinner after work. On summer Saturdays, grab a slice to enjoy on our outdoor patio after you visit Madison's famous Dane County Farmers' Market. By nightfall, it becomes a big kid after party.

• Minimum Guaranteed Wage of $16/hour: At the end of the pay period, if your base wage ($12.50/hour + $2/hour additional for any time after 10pm) and tips have not averaged to at least $16/hour, we will pay the rest. You are guaranteed to earn at least $16/hour minimum, but you can earn more than that! Most cooks average $17.50-$22/hour. Tips are paid at the end of each shift, and all other wages are paid on your paycheck (biweekly).

Cook Expectations

Get ready to be the pizza pro! As a cook, you'll be whipping up pizzas like a champ, from stretching dough to topping and baking. You might lend a hand with prep or help out in the front-of-house, but mainly, it's all about crafting those delicious pies and keeping things clean and organized. You'll have an awesome team by your side, so even when things get hectic, you'll have backup. And the tips... they'll have you swimming in dough! ðŸ•ðŸ'&degree;

• Be able to stand and walk for long periods.
• Be able to bend, crouch, and lift 20-50 lbs.
• Be able to use ovens, pizza cutters, and other related equipment.
• Must be 18+ to apply for a cook position. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can apply for the Front of House at our Garver location. All other positions/locations require you to be 18+ years of age.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide adequate identification documentation at Orientation and/or Day One. For more information, you can visit -9.

Cook Availability

100 State St is currently open Sunday-Tuesday 11am-10pm, Wednesday-Thursday 11am-2am, Friday-Saturday 11am-2:30am. Opening cook shifts typically start 1-2 hours before opening, and closing shifts typically end 1-2 hours after closing.

Our restaurants are most busy on evenings and weekends, so availability for these shifts is strongly preferred. We require availability for 1 late night (10pm-4am) shift per week. If you are looking for full-time hours, your availability should be mostly open and flexible.

Part-time (anywhere in the 15-30 hours a week range) or full-time (30-40 hours a week) is available. We'll try our hardest to give you the hours and shifts you want, but we can't promise the same schedule every week. For full-timers though, we'll make sure you average 30-40 hours each week to ensure your health and dental benefits eligibility.
