Job Title: Facilities Director – San Diego, CA

Location: San Diego, CA

Salary: Competitive base salary in the range of $150,000 – $180,000 plus performance incentives and benefits.

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Facilities Director to oversee the operations, maintenance, and strategic management of a large, multi-site portfolio in the San Diego area. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring optimal building performance, operational efficiency, and an exceptional workplace experience for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of facilities, including maintenance, engineering, safety, and sustainability programs.
  • Develop and implement long-term facilities strategies that align with client objectives.
  • Oversee a team of managers, engineers, and support staff, fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and high performance.
  • Manage vendor contracts, service agreements, and performance metrics to ensure value and compliance.
  • Monitor budgets, control costs, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in building operations, energy efficiency, and environmental performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client leadership, building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities or operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success managing large, complex sites or multi-site portfolios.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost control.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building systems, maintenance best practices, and sustainability initiatives.
