POSITION INFORMATION

Job Code: R41610 Full Time Salary Range: $48,451.00 - $70,254.00 FLSA Status: Non-exempt This posting may be used to create a Talent Pool which can be used for a period of 10 months after the closing date on a job posting.

STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Provides professional verbatim reporting and transcribing for court proceedings, hearings and conferences. Employees in this classification have not obtained their Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA). This position is part of a progressive job series, and placement will be determined based on minimum qualifications and relevant experience of the successful applicant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Produces an accurate rendering of the verbatim court record utilizing stenographic reporting and transcription of court proceedings. Reviews, formats, and proofreads transcripts and provides real‑time translation for judges. Maintains file(s) and records/logs of notes and uses notes to fulfill transcript requests. Prepares cost estimates for transcript requests, bills and invoices for transcript costs, and maintains an accurate log of all transcript requests. Prepares required reports and documentation pursuant to Chief Justice Directive 05‑03 and local policies and procedures. Communicates with court staff regarding court proceedings and with attorneys and clients who are ordering transcripts. Maintains reporting equipment, troubleshoots and/or obtains technical support to resolve equipment‑related issues as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Equivalency: Associate’s degree or 2 years of college. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for the required formal education. Work Related Experience: Less than 1 year of related experience. Licenses And Certifications: None. Physical Effort Requirements: Medium work – exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly for moving objects. Work Environment: Good – relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Work Location: Office or similar indoor environment.
