Driver / Warehouse Job Description (#101)
We import and distribute high quality meats to Food Service and Retail Operators. We are committed to delivering to our customers at a high level of standard and consistency. We seek individuals that are highly motivated, dependable, results oriented and operate with a high level of responsibility and integrity.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Training and education on procedural and systems requirements will be provided, but the individual will be responsible for the retention and compliance to perform essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.
The essential functions include:
• Safely transport products in a timely, safe and courteous manner
• Maintain Driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Adhere to all food safety defense and compliance requirements, including proper documentation of cold chain custody
• Inspect and maintain truck and equipment to ensure proper working condition
• Maintain service and appearance of truck and equipment
• Ensure proper security of truck and shipments, with a strong approach to Food Defense with any observation of mishandled or tampered product documented, reported to management team
• Ensure accuracy of all pick-ups and deliveries, to be checked prior to loading/unloading
• Prioritizing completion of selecting and order pulling fulfillment, and any other assigned duties
• Efficiency in order pulling and packing as necessary
• Attend and participate in Employee Safety Meetings
• Adhere to all driving laws, and use of safety gear & protocols for possible accidents/breakdowns

Communication Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, other employees, supervision and the general public; Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret office documents

• Ability to define problems, gather, and draw valid solutions
• Ability to do basic math for weight calculations

Physical Skills and Abilities
• Ability to talk or hear in order to give and receive information and instructions
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend at waist and neck, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Use of feet to operate equipment pedals
• Ability to regularly lift, push/pull, 25 to 60lbs using proper body mechanics
• Ability to push/pull large shipping boxes in excess of 100lbs during loading and offloading
• Ability to reach with hands and arms for the function of loading and unloading truck
• Visual acuity, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision while operating company vehicles
Equipment and Computer Software Skills and Abilities:
• Computer literate (basic working knowledge of Microsoft WORD, and Outlook) and willing to learn and retain working knowledge of Canopy, Broadleaf’s internal warehouse management system
• Able to use telephone, office copier, calculator, fax machine, computer printer, scanner, or other equipment as required
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist Logistic Manager as required
• Assist Warehouse Manager and Supervisors as required
• Assist with building orders and air shipments as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• 40-hour work week with sporadic OT/must be flexible to schedule demands
• Regularly work indoors or outdoors in a variety of environments
• Alcohol and Drug Free Zone
• Frequent freeway and street travel, and waiting in queue while staying w/vehicle
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES
• High School Education, GED, or Equivalent
• Compatible Work Experience
• Job Related Certificate Programs
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and follow-through
• Fork Lift / Pallet Jack Certification is required
• Valid California’s Driver’s License, Class C, and driving record acceptable to Broadleaf’s Insurance Provider
