About Arts+: Founded in 1969, Arts+ is a music and visual art nonprofit organization that provides outstanding arts education available to students of all ages, skill levels and socioeconomic backgrounds. From private lessons to summer camps to community outreach programs, Arts+ strives to help each student unlock their full potential through the power of arts education .

Overview

The Arts+ Administration Intern will assist the Associate Executive Director and the Operations Coordinator with various activities related to the running of Arts+ in administrative, marketing, and development tasks. The internship will provide a general knowledge of how Arts+ operates and the opportunity to engage with all departments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for accessible arts education and a desire to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works with Operations Coordinator on daily administrative and operational tasks to help the staff office run smoothly and efficiently.
• Works with development on appeals, grants, acknowledgements, database upkeep, corporate solicitations, prospect research and events.
• Works with Communication Manager on research, storytelling, data collection and analysis and other tasks.
• Provide support to staff members in other departments as needed.

• Attends various programs providing general support.
• Provides support for board meetings
• Interacts with board members, constituents, faculty and staff.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Currently working towards bachelor's degree
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), including writing, editing, and content development
• Commitment to teamwork, accuracy, initiative and critical thinking
• Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work flow
• Effective working both independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
