Manager of Engineering - Aerospace - Seattle WA area Our client in the
Seattle, WA area is a
Leading FAA Certified Aerospace Repair and Service company specializing in cockpit repairs including avionics who are looking for a
Manager of Engineering. This individual will develop, maintain and effectively execute development and R&D project plans in accordance with the company's strategic plan and will be responsible for production programs sustaining engineering.

Hands-on Engineering Manager Key Requirements • Experience in leading teams and in project management
• Experience getting DER repairs/PMA/STC approved by the FAA
• Experience with aircraft transparencies
• Experience determining and articulating cost/benefit analysis of development projects
• Experience/ability presenting to airline customers
• This position is not just design/reverse engineering - it also is responsible for driving production/efficiency improvements
Responsibilities: This individual must have a thorough understanding of the aircraft materials and structures markets and be familiar with suppliers, customers and OEWs in the Air Transport/RegionaI markets. Additional experience in General Aviation would be a plus.
- Supervise and lead engineers and/or technicians who design repairs for cockpit window structures and transparencies
- Coordinate engineering activities with manufacturing, quality, sales and marketing, and other groups within the Company, consistent with the Company's strategic goals.
- Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities.
- Monitor production for trends and implement lasting corrective actions.
- Oversee the research and development of new products and procedures.
- Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff.
- Assign, direct, and evaluate the engineering team's work; and oversee the development and maintenance of the team's competence.
Experience: - BS in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum Of 5 years engineering experience in the Aerospace MRO industry
- Extensive experience with FAA certification programs, preferably involving aircraft structures.
- Prefer Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification
Eligibility Requirement: Must be a US Person under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to be eligible. This is an FAA Safety Sensitive position.
